MEDITATION
Fr Tim shared this meditation with the First Holy Communicants and their families. He would like everyone in the parish to have the opportunity to watch it, if they so wish.
FIRST FRIDAY NOVENA
On Friday 5 May a Novena of Nine “First Friday hours of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament” took place at St Mary’s starting at 3:00pm. The Church was open from 2:45pm until 4:00pm. The next opportunity will be on Friday 2 June at 3:00pm and then every First Friday, running through until 5 January 2024. Stay the hour, or pop in and simply rest in the Lord’s presence. The only joint prayer will be at the start of the hour, and we will close with simple Benediction. We pray for peace and guidance in our lives as we “strive to become the church that God is calling us to be.”

SHRINE MINISTRY:
Thank you to everyone who shared in the launch of our Shrine project at our awakening day last week. John discussed the background to the project and the goal to place our celebrated icon to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour once again at the heart of our mission as a community. Pilgrimage and prayer are at the heart of an ambitious programme, but we agreed to make a simple start: so from Wednesday 10 May at 7.30pm come and spend 30 mins of your evening with us as we re-instate a beautiful weekly Novena service.

LOVE THE STRANGER
This month sees the launch of the “Love the Stranger”. This publication by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales Department for International Affairs, deals with migrants and refugees, placing them “at the heart of our pastoral outreach, looking beyond statistics and policies to the person – each with a name, a face and a story”.

BROTHER JAMES - PSALM OF CREATION
Brother James who joined Fr Tim in many of the Lockdown Masses and who is now based in France was asked by Patrick Richard to create an English language adaptation of Patrick's popular modern French hymn "Psaume de la Création". He has published his version on YouTube see the video below.
