A THANKYOU FROM THE SVP AND LIVERPOOL SOUTH FOODBANK
The SVP conference would like to thank the parish for their generous donations of food at each of the Masses and via the children preparing for Holy Communion last Sunday. We were able to give 15 crates (200 kg) of food to South Liverpool Food Bank. The food will be put to great use over the festive period.
Some pictures below - and also a Thank you certificate from the Foodbank

PROJECT ZIMBABWE:
A BIG THANK YOU to all who have donated to the Bro Benjamin appeal. So far, we have raised £1185! There are no more cards, but you can still donate on the card machine in church or dropping in an envelope to the monastery.
PRAYERS PLEASE:
We ask you to remember Fr Tony Cassidy who had been helping out in St Teresa’s, Norris Green for some weeks. He has returned to the monastery and is quite poorly. We beg your prayers for his complete recovery. We also ask your prayers for Christine, our cook, and Cheryle, our housekeeper, both of whom are struggling with serious health problems. Life is somewhat challenging at present!
JUBILARIANS TRIP TO ROME
Four of out jubilarians accompanied Archbishop John to Rome for an audience with the Pope last week. Frs Bill Murphy, Tony Slingo, Graeme Dunne & Joe Bibby were personally greeted by Pope Leo and congratulated them on their special anniversaries.

JUBILEE ICON
Last Sunday, the CAFOD Jubilee Icon made its way to our Justice and Peace Youth Group. The young people had a chance to get up close and discover all the hidden symbolism within the painting. Artist, John Elcock, came to speak to the group about icons which was fascinating, and hopefully in the future there will be another session when the young people can work with John to produce their own version of an icon.

The Icon was then whisked away to the Isle of Man to make its final stop on its tour of the Liverpool Archdiocese.
YOUTH SUNDAY
Next Sunday is Youth Sunday, which is a day for the world to recognise and celebrate young people in our local church communities. To highlight all that young people do, and what we offer young people across the diocese, you will find some leaflets in the porch, or to download visit animateyouth.org. In order for us to continue to work with young people the additional collection next week goes to support the on-going work of Youth Ministry here in the diocese. Even in these difficult times any contribution is welcomed. Gift Aid envelopes are available for those able to do so.
SAFEGUARDING SUNDAY 15.11.25
Today (16th November) is Safeguarding Sunday and we join parishes across the UK for a national day of prayer and action led by the Christian safeguarding charity Thirtyone:eight. The theme this year is “Action Speaks Louder”. As part of our response, we will be sharing Safeguarding Pledge Cards which can be found in the porch. These are an opportunity for each of us to commit to one small, personal action that will help make our parish a safer place for all. We give thanks for our parish safeguarding representatives and all who quietly work to protect children, young people and adults at risk. Please keep them and those they help in your prayers.
To learn more about the national campaign, visit safeguardingsunday.org.
If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact our Parish Safeguarding Representative at or call 0151 722 1180.
THE SEED - NOVEMBER'S POEM FROM OUR RESIDENT POET
THE SEED
November swirls in on misty mornings
And early darkening days.
It isa mystical month –
A time of myths, of restless spirits,
Of ghosts,
Of remembrance of the past.
Halloween and Bonfire Night,
With all the celebrations, pageantry and practices,
Are laid to rest
As the last fusillade of fireworks
Fades in the night sky of Bonfire Night.
Yet, all is not done.
Before Christmas holds sway
We have a perennial duty
To recall and give thanks
To those who died in conflicts,
Lasting more than 100 years,
So Justice, Freedom and Peace could prevail.
Many will remember
In formal parades, prayers
And the laying of poppy wreaths
At cenotaphs across the lands.
Some, will attend familiar places of worship,
Others, in the innermost confines of their hearts.
What really matters
Is that we remember, now,
And nurture the precious seed,
So that present and future generations
Will keep alight the memory
Of All who perished in the cause of freedom.
