LIVESIMPLY MESSAGE 12.7.26
We aim to live more simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others
This week marks Arctic Sea Ice Day. Sea ice serves as the earth's 'air conditioner'. It reflects sunlight away from our planet and regulates global climate. It provides a vital hunting ground for polar bears, supports marine life and acts as a highway for our sisters and brothers of the northern indigenous communities.
Sadly, climate change is warming the Arctic much faster than the rest of the world. Arctic Sea Ice Day highlights the importance of this crucial feature of our Common Home and focuses on what we need to do to save and protect the Arctic.
