Climate Crisis: What can I do?
On Thursday 30 November, to coincide with the first day of COP28, the church hall at St Mary's was converted in to a TV studio for a special edition of Question Time entitled Climate Crisis: What can I do?
Chaired by our very own Bill Chambers, the Panel comprised Paula Barker, MP for Wavertree; Ged Edwards, CAFOD Coordinator; Liz Makinson, Councillor for Calderstones; Liam Robinson, Leader of Liverpool City Council; Paul Rooney, Deacon and Environmental Academic.
The debate was very lively and wide-ranging and the audience didn't hold back in their questioning, but each of the Panellist gave full and informative answers to each of the questions posed to them. The topics covered ranged from the prospects for COP28 through to recycling food-waste here at home.
The evening closed with each person present, including the Panel, making a pledge of something they are going to do differently from now onwards in their own lives. You can see a summary of these pledges below.
