WATER AID PRESENTATION 22.8.2023

On Tuesday 22nd August David Bill gave a talk on Water Aid.  WaterAid’s  three pillars are Water, Sanitation and Hygiene  (WaSH)

presentation

Fr Michael, Fr Tim and Fr Casey (our patron all attended), with Fr Casey introducing the evening.  We had a great turn out

The evening started with David Bill asking a series of questions about water.  eg What percentage of the earth is covered in water?  How much water should you drink a day?   How many people die each day as they don't  have access to clean water.   The table with the most correct answers were rewarded with some Fair-trade chocolate.

Amongst the topics discussed were composting toilets

and Tippy taps.    Our intrepid supporters got a chance to build their own using the materials in the photo below

though many would have liked to have seen this video before trying.

The instructions given were to create a tippy-tap, the completed tap needed to be free from cross contamination, ie not hand operated, as hands could be dirty.
