COMMEMORATION OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI

📍Location:  Peace Garden - St John's Gardens

Pax Christi invites you to join with CND in a commemoration of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima ,  in the Peace Garden, St John's Garden, (behind St. George’s Hall) on August 6th. (Gather at 10.30 for 10.45 start.)


On Sunday, August 9th, the anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki. Pax Christi will be leading a ‘Lanterns for Peace Service ' on the steps of St. Luke's Bombed Out Church (top of Bold St) at 2 p.m.

At a time when the nuclear threat has once again become a tangible reality, this commemoration is not only a moment of mourning but a genuine call to conscience.

CTMH WALK AUGUST 2026

📅 Date:   August 10th 2026

📍Location:  Liverpool South Parkway at 10.10am to catch the 10.25am train to Brunswick.


The walk is just under 4mile. Walking along the historic South Liverpool Docks proceeding on to Otterspool Promenade ending in Walk to St Ann's Aigburth  Church. We expect to arrive at the church between 12.30pm and 1pm. where your packed lunch can eaten tea and coffee will be provided.
 
Throughout the walk various historical facts will be provided, and in the church a brief history of the church and its organ will be given followed by an organ recital.
 
For those going straight to church by train Aigburth Station is near to the church. Upon leaving the station turn right up Mersey Road then left on Aigburth Road 5 min walk. Or the 82 bus stops right outside church. 
 
For those wishing to do a short walk after lunch, there will be an opportunity to walk to Sudley House.

ASYLUM LINK CLOTHES APPEAL

Clearing out your closet? Asylum Link are in need of clean, unwanted adult clothes in good condition, especially men’s clothing and would gratefully receive any items that you would be happy to donate!

Some of the service users at here at Asylum Link arrive with just the clothes on their backs, some of which are not even suitable for our ever-changing British weather

By donating your unwanted clothes to Asylum Link you can help to give someone the gift of choice.  Your donation can make a real difference.


ASYLUM LINK INSTRUMENT APPEAL

 
Do you have any spare musical instruments to donate?
 
Asylum Link have recently restarted a weekly music group. 
 
They are looking for old/unwanted instruments.
 
They  are looking for melodic instruments, such as: Xylophones, Glockenspeils, Keyboards, Steel drums
 
If you can help please take any donations along to thei centre (7 Overbury Street, L7 3HJ). We are open Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-4pm.

INVITATION TO JOIN THE CATHOLIC HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER TEAM

Due to the growing need to support Catholic patients at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Broadgreen Hospital, the Chaplaincy Management invites kind and caring individuals to join the Catholic hospital volunteer team. This apostolate involves listening, praying, bringing Holy Communion to patients, and offering a comforting Catholic presence.

To mark this occasion there will be a Mass on Saturday 15th August at 5pm and ONE outdoor Mass at 10.30am on Sunday 16th August. They hope to have a Marian Procession at 11.30am with food afterwards.

NETHERLY YOUTH AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVE NEEDS YOU!

The NYCI need volunteers for Wednesday's food pantry service. This service provides pantry essentials and fruits and veg to around 50-60 households, and volunteers are needed for logistics, assisting shoppers, distribution and making all feel welcome. For more info email:

MOSSLEY HILL CHURCH HOLIDAY CLUB:

1pm – 4pm each day, for children aged 5 -11   

Go MAD – (Make A Difference): We will be exploring what it means to live with kindness, courage and compassion with material from Christian Aid.  A week of fun, thought and action for children. You can now register here online.

SOUTH LIVERPOOL CATENIAN CIRCLE

 

The South Liverpool Catenian Circle  meet every second Monday of the Month at the Liverpool Cricket Club from 7.30 pm.  followed by dinner at 8pm

 

Several times per year they are joined for dinner by  wives, partners and guests.

And social events provide further opportunities for all.
