3×20 + 10×2 - A POEM FROM OUR RESIDENT POET

To mark Fr Tim's 80th Birthday, our resident poet has created a new poem

3×20 + 10×2

So -

 Another milestone reached

On Life’s serendipitous Journey -

And still around!

Still able to enjoy the simple pleasures

That link you with a Past

Redolent with people, places, occasions,

Which moulded, influenced, polished

The Entity celebrating this Special Day.

It is a time for Nostalgia,

A time for Thanksgiving,

A time to know

That a plethora of Love, Prayers, Best Wishes,

Surround you on your Path

To a future, as yet, unknown,

But hopefully,

Bright with all the Blessings

That you hold close, in your heart.

THANKYOU FROM SOUTH LIVERPOOL FOODBANK (VIA SVP) MAY 2026:

Wow - what can we say? Except that we're totally blown away by your kindness and your latest donation.

The £500 you donated will make a real difference, enabling us to continue to be there for people day after day - providing emergency food when the cupboards are bare, a listening ear when things feel overwhelming, and advice to help people take control with dignity.

We know that severe levels of hardship still prevail in our communities and while falling inflation has helped some, many are still struggling to cope. Thousands of people and families are having to face impossible choices: heating or eating, bills or food. This is so sad and it’s why hundreds are being forced to turn to our food bank every month.Last year alone we were able to provide 6,816 local people with emergency food and toiletries - 2,204 of those were children.  In addition, everyone who turned to us had access to a dedicated Citizens Advice Adviser. She helped over 200 people gain, on average, an extra £1,750 in their pockets - making it less likely they’ll need to use our food bank again.

This would not have been possible without your continued support. And for that we’re truly grateful.

HAIL MARY BY MAL

An alternate arrangement has been sung at 6pm Mass a couple of times.

SHRINE MINISTRY

Bishop Eton has the honour of receiving the first copy of the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour outside of Rome. Since 1866 care of this world-famous icon has been the responsibility of the Redemptorists here in Liverpool, and for over 150 years people across the city have made pilgrimage to our Shrine at the Lady Chapel at Bishop Eton for prayer and healing.

In 2023 parishioners launched a new and ambitious Shrine Ministry - a programme of prayer and pilgrimage activities in honour of our Blessed Lady designed to place our Shrine at the heart of our parish mission and ‘make her known’ once again across the city, and the UK.

If you would like to be involved or think you can help in anyway please download a form, click here, complete and return to the parish office.
