LIVING IN HOPE:

I have almost finished reading a book by Massimo Borghesi (Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Perugia), entitled: Catholic Discordance (Neoconservatism vs. the Field Hospital Church of Pope Francis). When I think of some of the challenges I have had to face in my life, ministering in the life of the Church, they pale into insignificance against those that Pope Francis has and continues to confront. He is ten years older than I am, yet he continues to radiate the joy of the Gospel and seems to have retained that inner serenity, which speaks of a man living in the sure hope that ultimately Christ’s promises will be fulfilled.
