ALTAR SERVING:

As I wrote my message above, speaking about incense, I could not help but reflect on my one disappointment over Christmas: namely, the lack of altar servers, particularly at Bishop Eton. As you know, I am not given to burdening you or being demanding. I appreciate the efforts that have been made in both parishes to ensure that we have servers at our liturgies. Also, I recognise the demands of modern life, which are different to when I was younger. At the same time, I would like to make another effort in the coming weeks to see whether we can recruit teams of servers who are willing to give serving a priority in their lives. Maybe, we will even have incense swirling around the church again at times other than funerals. Any suggestions?
