CAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITHIN THE PARISH ?

The Redemptorist community is blessed with many wonderful priests, but most are retired or semi-retired.  Therefore we need volunteers to help with all aspects of parish and community life.   (A flavour is given below - it is not exhaustive).  If you feel you can help please fill in the volunteer form  click here  and return to the parish office.

Some opportunities eg the diaconate will require a period of training, others will be subject to a DBS check

LITURGY

Sacristans; Readers; Bidding Prayer Writers; Flower arrangers; Servers; Musicians; Singers; Children’s Liturgy (Little Church)

CATECHISTS

First Holy Communion; Journey in Faith (RCIA); Confirmation;Available to accompany individuals (adults and children); Baptismal preparation; Marriage Preparation

MINISTRIES

The Diaconate (Deacons), Ministers of Holy Communion (for the churches and for the housebound etc); Ministers for Funerals; Bereavement Group; Marriage Registration; Shrine Ministry (focused on OLPS and St Gerard); ALPHA

SOCIETIES

SVP (St Vincent de Paul); Junior Justice and Peace; CAFOD (Laudato Si etc)

FINANCE

Finance (embracing an advisory group; counters, fund raisers etc)

BUILDINGS

Architects, builders, surveyors to keep an eye on all the properties and ensure that they are maintained

CSSR COMMUNITY

Covering the front door
Care of the elderly, especially at tea-time and supper time
