BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND
The weather forecast for this last Bank Holiday of the summer suggests that we are going to fare well over the weekend, so I hope we can all enjoy some sunshine and a little more down time before the great return to school follows after next weekend. Hopefully, early in the autumn I will be in a position to share some practical thoughts with you about how we might help one another run both parishes even more efficiently than we do at present. I have nothing particularly radical in mind, but a couple of areas which we might be able to tweak.
If you venture into the tribune you will see that the windows have now been restored and they look excellent. However, they are not to be touched for a few weeks while they set, so please do not get carried away, even if it is very warm in church over the weekend.
SVP Monthly Collection
The SVP's monthly collection will take place after all Masses next weekend. Thank you for your generosity.

This is purely a meeting to inform so why not pop along.
There will be an open, informal meeting to find out more about Family Groups and how this Ministry of Welcome can support a parish community. Like a natural family, Family Groups are made up of people of all ages and circumstances who simply commit to meet regularly and get to know each other better. The groups are linked by a common faith bond but are not exclusive to Catholics. Family Groups do not replace other groups in the parish but help their members develop genuine friendships and support networks and to build a sense of community in the parish and a sense of parish in the community. If you think this is something that could benefit the parish, please come along to: LACE, Croxteth Drive, L17 1AA on Wednesday 2 October at 7.30pm. Please contact Sue Faulkner on 522 1047 or email to book a place.
Please check out all the posters in the porch for extra events, courses and information. Also, check out the parish website for many more links.

Marriage Matters Reflections for this week
A Reflection from Marriage Matters (www.twoinoneflesh.org.uk) for this Sunday
Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time (Isaiah 66: 18-21; Hebrews 12: 5-7; Luke 13: 22-30)
Our calling is to be a sign of God’s love
Married couples have a special calling to evangelise. God created man and woman to live intimately together so that the people we meet see a living example of His love for each of us. Many of us at some time have seen a couple together and felt intense joy or sensitivity in them – living examples of His love for us.
Bro. James - Sponsored Cycle for the Salvation Army
On Sunday Aug. 4th, Bro. James (SFX) took part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 mile Sportive cycling event He rode as part of a Salvation Army team (#TeamSally). He will be looking to complete the ride in about 6hrs30, which for an amateur rider of his "profile" would be good going. Any donations would be very gratefully received. God bless.
