This weekend is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity and next weekend is the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.
On Wednesday we begin the Nine Day’s of Prayer in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. Fr Michael Henesy and his team are carefully preparing each evening: may they inspire us to renewed devotion before our treasured shrine.
Over next weekend I will be with the Notre Dame pilgrims before the original icon in Rome. We will pray for one another.
I enjoyed my few days away and hope the batteries are fully recharged.
Parish Garden Party
Parish Garden Party takes place on Sunday 30 June. Tickets on sale today after Masses. Also donations for Tombola welcome. Please try and come along there will be lots of activities, food and music to enjoy.
Day for Life.
Day for Life is the day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. This year the focus is on Domestic Abuse.

This is part of CAFOD's 2019 campaign entitled Our Common Home. The campaign is responding to Pope Francis' call for each of us appreciate to protect God's precious and wonderful creation.
Gergely Juhasz will be Ordained as Deacon for the Pastoral area on Sunday 7 July at 3.00pm in the Metropolitan Cathedral. Everyone is welcome to come along to support him on this joyous occasion.

There will be an afternoon strawberry cream tea from 2.00pm-4.00pm on Wednesday 17 July at LACE. Besides enjoying beautifully ripe strawberries and delicious cream scones, encouraging conversations along the way and a well-stocked ‘marketplace’.
Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Association
The Archdiocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Association ask us to join them in supporting their annual trip which will take place from 19—26 July. You can join in spirit by becoming an associate member by reciting the prayers on the leaflet and writing their names on the blue card held at Reception. At the same time if you are able to contribute to the Assisted Funds please hand in your donation at Reception.

Synod Information Day and view sharing at the Metropolitan Cathedral
On Tuesday, 25 June, the Cathedral will be hosting a ‘pop-up’ information hub located next to the Cathedral Café on the Cathedral steps. All are invited to join us throughout the day for complimentary refreshments as we chat informally about the project.
There will also be two other events on Wednesday, 26 June from 7.00pm–8.30pm and Wednesday, 3 July from 2.00pm–3.30pm in the Gibberd Room in the Cathedral. People attending are encouraged to share their views on a one-to-one basis with our team of volunteers. We are hoping to speak to people of all ages, backgrounds and religious beliefs and we would love to hear your views. We warmly invite everyone to attend, both Catholics and non-Catholics.

Could you knit/crochet for a sick person you may never meet?
The idea is that before you start knitting/ crocheting the blanket, or, as you make the blanket (either by yourself or as part of e.g. a knit and natter group), you pray for the sick person who will eventually receive the blanket.
Specification: 60cm x 60cm, any colours, any wools. Blankets are given to each patient at Marie Curie by the chaplain.

St Mary's Shrine Church Warrington - Pro-Life garden fete
You are all warmly invited to St Marys Shrine Church, Warrington for this year's annual Pro-life garden fete.
The guest speaker this year is Mrs Clare McCullough who along with her husband Stewart is the director of the Good Counsel Network (GCN).
The GCN is based in London and Clare is a luminary in the UK Prolife movement having appeared on many national media outlets and as a regular guest speaker at the annual March for Life event in London.
