This weekend, we welcome Fr Tim back from his well-earned break. He has reported that he has had an enjoyable few days. Next week most of the Redemptorist community will be in Perth (Scotland) for discussions about the restructuring of the Redemptorists across Europe and during this week (April 30 to May 4) there will only be 7.00am Mass each day here in Bishop Eton and 12 noon Mass each day at St Mary’s.

The Funeral of Richard Barton RIP will take place on Wednesday 2 May at 12.00 noon.

BELL: Bishop Eton Lending Library, meet this Wednesday 2 May, in the Hughes Room 2.00pm—4.00pm. Do come along and see the selection of books, borrow and have a chat. Refreshments will be available. All welcome.

J&P Youth Group will be meeting on Friday 4 May at 6.00pm in the Fisher-More Hall.

Holy Hour Adoration at 7.30pm on Friday 4 May. Please come and join us.

Friends of the Holy Land Mass for peace and justice for our fellow Christians in the Holy Land will take place on Saturday  5 May at 12.00 midday.

Parish Quiz Night next Saturday 5 May at 8.00pm for 8.30pm start. All welcome.

SVP monthly collection will take place after all Masses next weekend. Thank you for your generosity.

Parish Coffee Morning next Sunday after the 10.00am Mass.  Also, the Repository with First Holy Communion gifts and cards. All profits going to Project Zimbabwe.

The next Pastoral Area Invitation to Prayer will take place on Wednesday 2 May and this time will be held at the Parish of Christ the King & Our Lady at 7.00pm as the Parish will be celebrating their 25th anniversary. We invite you to join us.

Eucharist is… Real Presence

At Mass or when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for our adoration, Jesus Christ is present with us because he told us he would be. His presence shows the truth of his words recorded right at the end of Saint Matthew’s Gospels when he told us to know he is with us always. Jesus is present, but that presence demands something of us too: our presence. At Mass we are present at the Last Supper.

Meet a Missionary May 8th at Hope Chaplaincy

We've got an exciting event coming up for all young adults and Hope students! We've teamed up with the charity, Meet a Missionary, to have a live video chat with a missionary, currently on a mission! It's like having a missionary in the room with us except we get to ask about exactly what's going on right now! Refreshments will be available, and afterwards, we will go to the halfway house.

Youth Retreat late June 2018

We're planning a young adult retreat there in summer and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Organ Recitals at the Metropolitan Cathedral 2018

Cultural Exchange With China

This organisation which is approved by the Bishops’ Conferences of England, Wales and Scotland for building bridges between the Catholic Churches of the UK and that of China. CEC is holding a one day conference with workshops on 12 May, 10.30am-4.00pm in the Gibberd Room at the Metropolitan Cathedral, admission is free, lunch is provided although a donation is welcome.


This will take place at Liverpool Hope University Friday 22 June to Sunday 24 June 2018. The theme is ‘I am with you always, yes, to the end of time.’

The Call - Our Lady of the Assumption Gateacre


THE IRENAEUS PROJECT: will be providing a series of talks entitled ‘THE CALL’, with the opportunity for one to one prayer support at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Gateacre, and every Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm from 25th April - 27th June.
