FROM FR TIM
A JOB OPPORTUNITY AT THE MONASTERY: Many, both in the parish and in the monastery, have been struggling with health problems during this winter. Hopefully, as we edge nearer to spring, at least the bugs that come with winter will die out. However, on a positive note, I am happy to report that Fr Tony Hunt has recovered well enough to return to the community this Tuesday. While he will receive much support from the daily visits of the health workers, it is a moment when we also realise that we need some more help to support our elderly and ailing confrères. After consultation in the Provincial Council we are advertising a part-time job for someone to join our excellent team at Bishop Eton. Preferably, this will be someone with a medical/nursing background. Anyone interested and wishing to know more, please speak to me or Fr Andrew.
Visitation: Archbishop Malcolm will make an official visit to the parish on Sunday, 18 March.
Resettlement Programme: We had an excellent meeting of the Steering Committee last Wednesday evening and those of you who have volunteered your help are now being contacted to support the different parts of the project which relate to your area of interest or expertise.
If you would like to be a part of the fundraising team - there will be a meeting on Thursday 8th February in the Hughes Room from 8pm to 9.30pm
You can keep up to date with developments on our dedicated page - click here
Lent: Dare I mention that Ash Wednesday is in ten days’ time? In BE Alive I have made a few suggestions about how we might approach Lent this year, including the hope that we will be able to reintroduce Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesdays. There is a sheet in the porch for those able to cover the various half hourly slots to sign up. For an electronic copy of BE Alive click here
The Funeral of Eileen Minnery RIP will take place on Monday 5 February at 12.00 noon.
SVP monthly collection will take place after all masses today. Thanks to parishioners who have recently donated food for the Food Bank and the Sisters in Seel Street. Your kindness is put to immediate good use and is appreciated. A box will be available at the back of church this weekend for any more very welcome donations.

Hospitality Team: Some of the team are no longer able to help so it would be good to have some new volunteers to assist when they could. If you feel able to help at future events please put your name, telephone number or email address on the list at the back of the church or you can phone Cath Line on 722 3286.
In case you missed it - here is the article from January's BE Alive on the Hospitality Team
The Hospitality Team was formed after the parish awakening day in order to help the people of the parish to celebrate special feasts and events in the life of the parish community. We also aim to welcome visitors or new people to the parish. Light refreshments are usually served in the hall while providing the opportunity for people to meet, chat and celebrate together. Some of the events we have celebrated so far have been the Golden Jubilees of two of the clergy, special birthdays, feast days, the summer garden party and of course the Christmas Carol Services where people enjoy the mulled wine and mince pies and the chance to wish friends a happy Christmas.
I usually do the shopping for the events along with Sue Timmis and I then call on a team of volunteers to help serve the refreshments and tidy up afterwards. Some of the team are no longer able to help so it would be good to have some new volunteers to assist when they could. If you feel able to help at future events I would be grateful if you could put your name, telephone number or email address on a list
I will leave at the back of the church or you can ring me on 722 3286. Thank you. Catherine Line, Co-ordinator for the Hospitality Team
