More details this week on the February Walking Group including visits to Holy Trinity Wavertree and Bishop Eton, and  new notices for a  Christian Aid Liverpool Conference on Climate Change and a New Wine Accessible Church Conference.

For National Holocaust Day, in memory of the millions of Jews who lost their lives, Legendary actress Helen Mirren retraces the life of Anne Frank through the pages of her diary and introduces the viewer to five other women who, as young girls, were also deported to concentration camps during World War II in the new film, Anne Frank: Parallel Stories,Thursday 30th 12.00 Silver Screen

Tuesday 4th February


Every Tuesday at St Barnabas 10.30am - Noon

St Barnabas Church host a Lodge Lane Credit Union drop in service in church.  A full range of Credit Union services is available.

There is also a drop-in support service, run by the Riverside Housing Floating Support Team which promotes the wellbeing and independence of vulnerable people in Liverpool.   Advice on matters such as, budgeting, debt management, accessing benefits and finding/sustaining accommodation is available.

Tea and coffee is available between 10.30am and noon. 

Wednesday  5th February

LUNCH CLUB – Elm Hall Drive Methodist – Noon – 1.45pm

A warm welcome to anyone who would like to join this happy group. 

Meeting each Wednesday at Elm Hall Drive Church for a freshly cooked two course meal, followed by tea and cake, for £3.

Friends can of course sit together!

South Liverpool Linking Lives - Over 60’s Group Mossley Hill Parish Church 2pm – 3.30pm

South Liverpool Linking Lives run a free group for anyone over 60 every Wednesday from 2-3.30pm at Mossley Hill Church, offering a mixture of activities (quizzes, board games, chair exercises etc) as well as time for chat and refreshments. Free transport can be provided (please get in touch for more info).

Monday 10th February

CTMH Social Walking Group – Holy Trinity Wavertree and Bishop Eton Church

A more local meet, taking in Holy Trinity Church Wavertree, lunch in  Hope University Chaplaincy, and a tour of Bishop Eton church entitled 'So you think you know all about Bishop Eton'.

A more local meet, remembering the wintry Februarys we have had some years.

Before lunch meet on Allerton Road and walk via Holy Trinity Church to Hope.

After lunch (probably in Hope Chaplaincy,  Jenny will give a tour of Bishop Eton church entitled  'So you think you know all about Bishop Eton', during which you will hear the results of her research into such topics as 'Why is there a statue of St. Julie and did she like cats - discuss', 'what did St. Clement Hofbauer say to some men in a pub to persuade them to give him money',   and 'Who was Bishop Eton anyway'.

Mossley Hill Parish Church 10.30 – 3.30pm

The Makers Market is back at Mossley Hill Church for Spring, on Saturday 7th March at 10.30am. There will be lots of wonderful small businesses with amazing goods on offer so please drop in and have a browse.  Our Hilltop cafe will be open all day for delicious food and light refreshments.  Hope to see you there!

Christian Aid Conference

Holy Saturday 11th April 

City Centre Ecumenical Walk of Witness 2pm

Come and join the Archbishop of Liverpool, the Bishop of Liverpool, and other CTMR Presidents as they walk together through the main shoppingstreets of Liverpool.

Christians from all denominations are invited to be part of this witness to our Easter faith as we walk together, read the Bible, and pray with the people of the City.

This has become one of our primary opportunities to show the unity of Christians in our region. The walk begins at 2pm outside the Metropolitan Cathedral, and ends at 3pm with a short act of worship followed by refreshments at Liverpool Parish Church.

If you are going please contact , CTMH hope to have a group walking together with members of our walking group and others.

New Wine Accessible Church Conference  - Preston

How to be welcoming & inclusive for people  with additional needs.  Empowering Church leaders, volunteers and communities to be more welcoming and inclusive for people with additional needs.  As well as providing a unique opportunity to meet and learn from others with a similar passion or experience, there will be dedicated teaching, practical application and ideas on welcoming and including all people with additional needs – plus their parents and carers.
