Thursday 28th March

Riding Lights Theatre – Mossley Hill Parish Church 7:30 – 9:00 pm

Riding Lights Theatre Company present a passion play  “The Narrow Road”.  As we walk with inhabitants of ancient Palestine to the cross and on into the challenge of a life beyond, The Narrow Road asks each of us to review our understanding of our own faith in relation to that journey. Tickets are free of charge but seats are limited to 320 and can be obtained from Eventbrite.

Tuesday 2nd April

CREDIT UNION and RIVERSIDE’S FLOATING SUPPORT

Every Tuesday at St Barnabas 10.30am - Noon

St Barnabas Church host a Lodge Lane Credit Union drop-in service in the church.  A full range of Credit Union services is available.

There is also a drop-in support service, run by the Riverside Housing Floating Support Team which promotes the wellbeing and independence of vulnerable people in Liverpool.   Advice on matters such as, budgeting, debt management, accessing benefits and finding/sustaining accommodation is available.

Tea and coffee is available between 10.30am and noon.

LENT LUNCH at St Barnabas  - Noon

On Tuesdays during Lent,(March 12th,19th,26th, and April 2nd,9th) from 12 noon the Ladies from WINGS (Women in God’s Service) will be serving a Lunch of Homemade Soup and Bread. A reasonable donation will be acceptable. All monies being donated to the Whitechapel Centre for the Homeless. Do come and join us for a bowl of soup and help us raise money for this worthy cause.

LUNCHTIME LENT GROUP – Allerton URC – 1pm

You are invited to join with others in the Church Lounge Allerton URC every Tuesday in Lent for Food for the mind, body and soul as we journey together toward Easter.

Wednesday 3rd  April

LUNCH CLUB – Elm Hall Drive Methodist – Noon – 1.45pm

We extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join our happy group. 

We meet each Wednesday at Elm Hall Drive Church for a freshly cooked two-course meal, followed by tea and cake, for £3.

Friends can, of course, sit together - but we would want to get to know you too!

ECUMENICAL LENTEN PRAYER GROUP at Elm Hall Drive 7-8.30pm

An opportunity to deepen your relationship with God, to explore new ways of praying, and to share on your prayer over the previous week  in a confidential small group using resources on the Jesuit spirituality website: www.pathwaystogod.org .

Many resources are offered, including daily prayer material by email.  You may use the resources for daily prayer without coming to the group.

Subsequent meetings on March 20th, 27th  April 3rd, 10th, and 17th

FAMILY QUIZ NIGHT with PIE & PEAS SUPPER – Elm Hall Drive 6.45 for 7.00pm start

MIZORAM YOUTH CHOIR.  Bethel Welsh Church – 7.30pm

The Bethel Presbyterian Church of Wales, Heathfield Road L15 (entrance of Auckland Road)  extends a warm welcome to the Churches of Mossley Hill to support them on this special occasion. The delightful 30 strong youth choir from Mizoram in North East India are conducting a tour throughout Wales the following week.   They are incredible singers and all the singing will be in English.

Holy Week Hullabaloo.  Allerton URC 9.30am – 3pm

Organ Recital – Allerton URC -  7.30pm

With Colin Porter (organist at the Mossley Hill Parish Church), plus a prominent recitalist. 

RECYCLING FUND RAISING OPPORTUNITY

Apparently, foil-lined crisp packets survive more than 40 years without decaying.

Jenny Holden has done some research and Walkers Crisps have teamed up with terracycle.co.uk, who will send a courier to collect any crisp packets with a silver-type lining, over a certain number, and awards money points which can go to any charity. The aluminium in the lining is recycled. 

Is there anyone who would be interested in setting up a collection point for fundraising and also to help the environment. Not every organisation will have storage space,  of course, but the packets squash down well.   Jenny (This email address is being protected from spambots.
