10 May 2019

Greetings Ladies,

The Planned Programme - so far!

Friday 26 April 2019

VIctoriabuilding

Despite it being a very wet Friday the group assembled and had a fascinating tour of the Victoria Building which beside being beautiful gave a riveting insight into the wealth of the City of Liverpool during the Victorian era; also the great levels of philanthropy by the merchant class.

Sadly the café was unavailable because of a conference so we repaired to the Cathedral café.

Lunchtime Session - Tuesday 30 April 2019 - 12.30 FMH

Where There’s a Will

This session was both informative and entertaining and I can absolutely confirm the quality of Anne’s baking.

Both Anna and Anne were delighted with the interest and responses from members.

Both Anne and Anna are anxious to stress that this is a community service they are offering and are not looking for new business.

Payment envelopes for the Llangollen trip (see below) are available from Geraldine at St Mary’s and reception at the Monastery.

The Detectives

DI Gilbert (Gil) Markham: DI Markham is a startlingly talented detective rising through the ranks of Bromsgrove CID. He is distant and austere - the product of a profoundly difficult childhood - but has a natural magnetism which inspires loyalty. He clashes with his slippery boss, DCI Sidney, who prioritises the force’s public image

DS George (Noakesy) Noakes: DS Noakes is a slobbish, uncouth and outspoken Yorkshireman, an object of despair to his superiors. He is, however, also a man of hidden depths, with a sensitive streak and a secret flair for ballroom dancing. Markham sees through his philistinism and they form an unstoppable partnership.
