On Saturday from 4.00pm to 5.00pm and at call

CAFOD Family Fast Day, please place your envelopes in the baskets on the Sanctuary.

We welcome Hope Chaplaincy to our 6.00pm Mass this evening.

The Requiem Mass of Bill Gallagher RIP will take place on Wednesday 3rd March at 12.00 noon.

The Requiem Mass of Mary Rose Silcock RIP will take place at Our Lady of the Assumption on Wednesday 3rd March at 12.00 noon. We pray for Mrs Ree Morgan and all the family at this very sad time.

No Parish Surgery but Fr Desmond is available after all the Sunday Morning Masses today.

Lent:

  • Stations of the Cross on Sunday at 3.00pm.
  • Taize Prayer for Lent. Reflection, music from the Taize community, prayer and silence each Wednesday in Lent commencing 24th February from 7.00pm—7.20pm in the Hope Chapel. Why not follow this time of prayer by attending 'Reading the Old Testament with Head and Heart' - Lenten Series 2010 from 7.30pm—9.00pm in the Alexander Jones Building, Room 007.   • Lent with Ireneus. Prayer and reflection during Lent at Pauline Books and Media, Bold Street each Tuesday from 12.30pm–1.30pm
  • From Triumph to Triumph. A series of talks and reflections on the days and liturgies of Holy Week by Archbishop Patrick Kelly to be held in the Gibberd Room at 7.30pm commencing Tuesday 2nd March. See the poster in the porch.

First Holy Communion Meeting (not Carleton House) on Wednesday 3rd March in the Fisher-More Hall at 7.45pm.

The One World Group Annual Mass will take place on Friday 5th March at 7.30pm. All welcome.

Parish Quiz Night on Saturday 6th March in the Fisher-More Hall at 8.00pm for 8.30pm start. Two quizzes; £1 per quiz. All welcome; bring your own refreshments.

The Repository will be available next Sunday in the Fisher-More Hall from 9.30am and after the 10.00am Mass until 11.30am. Large stock of First Communion cards and gifts, Easter cards and St Patrick’s Day cards. The Parish Coffee Morning will take place after the 10.00am Mass in the Fisher-More Hall.

The Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal starts in March. Please support this Charity by taking a daffodil and placing a donation in the boxes provided in the porch. 

Street Child Africa are holding a Ladies’, Teenagers’ and Children’s new clothes sale on Saturday 13th March in the Fisher-More Hall from 10.30am—2.00pm. All welcome. Please bring your friends.

BISHOP ETON YOUTH GROUP:

¨        Karting on Sunday 21st March at Deeside. Cost £25,  includes snack and transport. Provisional 20 places. Please send full amount to Kris in the parish office.

Women’s World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday 5th March at Elm Hall Drive Methodist Church at 1.30pm. All welcome. See the poster in the porch.

Liverpool Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from Friday 23rd to Friday 30th July 2010. The Tour Operator is Leisure Time Travel 287 8000. Pilgrims who will need help should register with the Lourdes Pilgrimage Office 727 4000 as soon as possible. Please see poster in the porch. There will be Parish Fundraisers in May/June; one for Zimbabwe and one for Lourdes to send a sick person and a nurse.

Question of the Week. Sometimes we can see Christ with clear eyes as the disciples did on that mountain. 1. Tell about such a time in your own life. 2. Tell about a time when you felt God was absent, silent, or angry.

Wednesday Exposition. We continue to pray for Madeleine McCann and for all missing children throughout the world. May God protect them and return them safely to those who love them and miss them so much.
