Today is Education Sunday, a national day of prayer and celebration for everyone involved in the world of education. There will be a retiring collection after all Masses.
Monies Raised for Haiti. If you still want to write a cheque please make it payable to ‘Our Lady of the Annunciation’ and place in an envelope marked ‘Haiti’. It is not possible at the moment to Gift Aid this donation. £3,811.06 raised to date. Thank you for your generosity
There will be a Parish Fundraiser for the Redemptorists in Haiti on Saturday 6th February. Tickets £10 will be on sale at the back of Church today. The evening will include a disco from yesteryear and a fish supper. Bring your own drink. If anyone has any unwanted Christmas presents for Raffle prizes, would they hand them into the Monastery this week. Any helpers free to help set up should meet at the Fisher-More Hall at 2.00pm on Saturday 6th February. Please note: the February Parish Quiz is cancelled to accommodate this Fundraiser.

Wednesday 3rd February Parents’ Meeting for children in Year 4 celebrating First Reconciliation. This will be a joint celebration with the children from Our Lady’s, Bishop Eton and Carleton House.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word. A Refresher Evening for all new and experienced catechists will be held at Christ the King on Wednesday 10th February from 7.30pm—9.00pm. For full details please see the poster in the porch.

Project Zimbabwe. The 2010 Liverpool Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 28th March. Some parishioners have expressed an interest in taking part and raising funds for Project Zimbabwe. For further details contact Andy on 07775 883 867.
The Archdiocesan Workshop on the Rite of Election postponed from 7th January has been rearranged for Wednesday 3rd February from 7.00pm at Lowe House, St Helens. All welcome.
A special celebration of marriage and family life will take place at 3.00pm on Sunday 14th February, led by Archbishop Vincent Nicholls, at the start of National Marriage Week. Please come and receive this special family blessing and to pray for all who will serve the Marriage and Family Life Ministry in 2010.

Lost Property. Please check the lost property box in the Sacristy this week for any lost items. The box will be emptied of all items on Sunday 7th February and given to a good cause.
Loop System. It would be helpful if users of the loop system would let the parish office know if it is working or not.
Question of the Week. 1. How do you show your family or friends that you do love them? 2. How do you reach out to people who are hurting or lovely with the love of God?
Wednesday Exposition. We continue to pray for Madeleine McCann and for all missing children throughout the world. May God protect them and return them safely to those who love them and miss them so much.
