FROM FR TIM:

Archbishop Patrick is celebrating his Golden Jubilee of Ordination and next weekend he has sent us a Pastoral Letter to mark the occasion. As you know we have contributed to the special gift of the Crozier and on behalf of the parish we will also send him warmest good wishes and congratulations.

Confirmation: We have now had successful introductory meetings with the parents and look forward to the unfolding programme with them and their children in the months ahead. Bishop Ralph will be over next weekend for the celebrations with Archbishop Patrick. Remember everyone is welcome to attend the Mass at 3.00pm in the Cathedral on the Sunday afternoon.

Bishop Tom Williams: Bishop Tom will be making a visit to our parish over the weekend of 25/26 February. He will speak at all the Masses and hopes to offer us all a word of support and encouragement. I am sure you will make him very welcome. He will visit the Bishop Eton School on Thursday, 1 March.

Church Heating: I hope you have noticed the marked improvement in the temperature of the church. We are taking advice on how best to run the system and we may have to install some booster radiators to ensure that we can cope with these really cold snaps. We will keep you informed.

Catholic Pictorial this month features a report on the recent visit by Archbishop Kelly and Fr Mark Madden to the Holy Land.

The monthly SVP collection will take place TODAY. Thank you for your generosity.

Zimbabwe Appeal: Bishop Eton runners again plan to run the Liverpool Half Marathon, on Sunday, 18 March, to raise funds for the Zimbabwe Appeal. Depleted in numbers they would welcome anyone else interested in taking part. For more details contact Andy on 07775 883 867.

Prison Papers. Over the last six months the prison papers have not been collected on a regular basis and have been piling up for 3/4 weeks before someone comes to take them. The prison does not like to take this amount. If you are on the rota but are unable to continue please contact the parish office as a matter of urgency so we can decide what to do with the papers if we do not have enough volunteers.

CTMH Prayer Meeting at SND Convent at Liverpool Hope from 8.00pm—9.00pm on Wednesday, 15 February. See poster in the porch or contact Peter Moloney on 722 5857
