FROM FR TIM:
New Missals: We have taken delivery of some more of the new missals and they are available either after Mass at the back of the church or at the front door of the monastery at the bargain price of £15.
Parish Pastoral Group: The first full meeting on the newly formed group took place last Wednesday evening. There was a dynamism and real sense of purpose. The Team will meet again at the end of April and in the meantime the sub groups will begin to explore their different fields of activity and responsibility. For the next few months the Core Team will meet each month to review progress. We will keep you informed.
B.E. Alive: Please take your copy. I have written a short piece for this edition, looking back on my first few months in the parish and looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.
CONFIRMATION: A final reminder that letters have gone out from the schools inviting parents of children in years 4, 5 and 6 to preparation meetings. For Bishop Eton School the meeting will be in the school at 7.30pm this Wednesday, 8 February. For parents of children at Carleton House or any other Primary Schools there will be a meeting in the Fisher-More Hall on Friday, 10 February at 7.30pm. The Confirmations will take place during the week beginning Monday, 18 June. Please note that in the autumn we will look after the young people who wish to be confirmed in years 7, 8 and 9.
Church Heating: I am truly sorry that in spite of the state of the art boiler, installed last September, the heating system is still failing to keep the church comfortable during this very cold spell. I am indebted to John Byrne who continues to pursue the matter with a will and there will be another site meeting on the matter on Monday morning to see what can be done. Meanwhile keep your winter woollies at the front of the wardrobe.
The Funeral of Leo Bridges RIP will take place on Monday, 6 February at 12.00 midday.
The Funeral of John Tague RIP will take place on Tuesday, 7 February at 10 a.m.
Today is Education Sunday and there will be a retiring collection after all Masses. The monthly SVP collection will take place next weekend.
Parish Coffee Morning will take place today after the 10.00am Mass in the Fisher-More Hall. All welcome.
