Messages from Fr Tim

From Fr. Tim - Feast of the Ascension 2012

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension and next Sunday is Pentecost, when we rejoice in the gift of the Spirit. Recalling that between those two momentous events Mary gathered with the apostles for a time of continuous prayer, please do keep in your prayers all those who are preparing for Confirmation and all those who are making the journey alongside them. Also, please pray for abundant blessings on the Mission in Harrow this week. I shall return, hopefully in time for a wedding at 2.00pm next Saturday!

From Fr. Tim - music

There was a wonderful response to the meeting last Saturday. We are putting in place the arrangements for the Confirmation services and I anticipate that we will see the fruits of all the interest and enthusiasm at all our Sunday celebrations in the weeks and months ahead

From Fr. Tim - Parish Mission in Harrow on the Hill

I want to give you prior notice that I will be away from next weekend for a week, giving a Parish Mission at the church of Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury, Harrow on the Hill in North London. You may well be asking what on earth is he doing heading off when there is so much to be done here in Bishop Eton and St Mary's? Believe me I am asking the same question. However, this is the last of the work that had been planned well before I was asked to be parish priest here in Liverpool. Indeed the original project was to last for a few weeks and was to include the neighbouring parish and work on an ambitious pastoral plan for the area with Bishop Ralph coming from Gibraltar for part of the time. It has now been reduced to a Mission of one week from next Saturday until the following Friday evening! Please include this intention when you put your prayer mat out. Thank you.

From Fr. Tim - Countdown to the Confirmations

As you all know, instead of Harrow on the Hill, Bishop Ralph is now coming for seven Confirmation ceremonies in our two parishes, beginning with a Mass at 4.00pm on Sunday 17 June here in Bishop Eton for the children at Carleton House or at schools other than Bishop Eton and Much Woolton. Preparations are well in hand. I am most grateful to all who are helping in whatever way. Again please keep all the children and their families in your prayers.

From Fr. Tim - Parish Directory

Parish Directory: My thanks to Alison and Ann for their presentations last Sunday and to all the members of the Pastoral Group who were able to assist after Mass. Please remember that members of the team will be available after the Masses this weekend when there is an opportunity to have a coffee in the hall and return the census forms.
